【摘要】:ThisPASspecifiesrequirementsforthedesign,testing,factoryproductioncontrol,installationanduserdocumentation,andmarkingfordifferenttypesandconfigurationsofbuildingskirtsystemintendedforthetemporarysealingoftheabovegroundexternalfacesofbuildingsandproperties,intheeventoffloodwaterrisinguptoalevelbetween600mmand900mmabovegroundlevel.ThisPASisintendedforuseintheUKorlocationswithsimilarexposures,i.e.wherethereisatemperateclimateandadvancedwarningoffloodingisavailable.ThisPASspecifiesthemethodoftestingandanyallowableleakagerateforabovegroundcomponents.Therangeofbuildingsizescoveredisgovernedbythesystemconstraints,buttheoreticallythesystemcouldbeinstalledtoprovideprotectiontoanysizeofbuilding.NOTE1Thehydrostaticpressuresexertedbyfloodwatercancausesuddenorlong-termstructuraldamageandunderminethefoundationsofabuilding,unlessthebuildingisspecificallydesignedtowithstandsuchstresses.Theactualwaterlevelthatcanbesafelyretainedbytheexternalwallswilldependupontheconstruction,ageandconditionofthewalls.Itisrecommendedthatasuitablyqualifiedbuildingsurveyor,architectorstructuralengineerinspectstheexternalwalls,beforeanybuildingskirtsystemisinstalled.NOTE2Floodprotectionproductsadjacenttooraroundbuildingsarenotnormallyintendedtopreventwatermorethan600mmto900mmabovethelevelofthegroundsurroundingthepropertyfromenteringthebuilding.NOTE3ThePASleakagetestrepresentsconditionsthatcanbeexperiencedduringaflood.Thisincludestestingthefloodprotectionproductunderstaticwaterlevels,randomwavesupto0.1mhighandcurrentsupto1.0m/s.NOTE4ThisPASdoesnotcovertestingwithcontaminatedorsalinewater,however,productmanufacturersarerequiredtoprovideinformationabouttheperformanceoftheirproductsintheseconditions(seeAnnexC).NOTE5Conformanceofthefloodprotectionproductdoesnotmeanitissuitableforallsituations.IftheuserisinanydoubtastothesuitabilityofafloodprotectionproducttheyshouldseekfurtherinformationfromPreparingforfloods:Interimguidanceforimprovingthefloodresistanceofdomesticandsmallbusinessproperties[1],orfromtheFloodProtectionAssociation(www.floodprotectionassociation.org)orotherprofessionaladvisers.NOTE6ExtremeloadingconditionssuchasthoseresultingfromturbulentwaterorfromdebrisimpactarenotcoveredbytestinginthisPAS.Ifrequiredintheselocations,thefloodprotectionproductshouldbespecificallydesignedand/ortestedtowithstandsuchstresses.NOTE7ThefloodprotectionproductsdescribedinthispartofPAS1188arenotintendedforinstallationsprovidingpermanentfloodprotection,andattentionisdrawntotheneedtoensureasafeevacuationofpersonsintheeventofanemergencyandtoaccessandegressforpersonswithimpairedmovement.Thesefloodprotectionproductsshouldonlybeinstalledoractivatedintheeventofanimminentfloodandshouldberemovedordeactivatedassoonasdangerfromfloodingisover.ThisPASdoesnotcoverrequirementsforsurfaceappliedtreatmentsormembranesappliedtotheaboveorbelowgroundfacesofbuildings.ThisPASdoesnotcovergroundwaterprotectionsystems.
