【摘要】:ManufacturersofcarpetneedtomonitoremissionsofVOCstoassesstheenvironmentalimpactoftheirproductsindoors.TheseresultsarealsousedtodemonstratecompliancewithVOCemissionlimitsforindividualVOCs.ThesedataarealsousedtounderstandwhichVOCsareemittedfromaproductormaterialandtomeasurethemagnitudeofthoseemissions.Emissiondatamaybeusedtocomparedifferentlotsofcarpetofthesamematerialsofconstruction,orcarpetscomposedofdifferentmaterialsofconstruction,inordertodevelopproductswithloweremissionsandlowerpotentialenvironmentalimpact.Thistestmethodshouldbeusedinconjunctionwithpractices/guidelinesforemissionstestingsuchasGuideD5116,PracticeD7143,ENISO16000-9andENISO16000-10.Thesedetailhowtoselectandpreparesamplesandhowandwhentocarryoutemissionstestssuchthattheconcentrationandprofileofvaporsintheexhaustairoftheemissionchamber/cellarerepresentativeoftheproductundertest.Thisstandardmethodcoversthesamplingandanalysisofvolatileorganiccompoundsintheexhaustgasfromthechamber/cellusingthermaldesorptionx2014;compatiblesorbenttubesandwillprovidethenecessaryanalyticalconsistencytoensurethatreproducibledataisobtainedfortheanalysisofidenticalvaporsamplesbydifferentlaboratories.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesananalyticalprocedureforidentifyingandquantifyingthemassesofindividualvolatileorganiccompounds(individualVOCsorIVOCs)thatareemittedintoaflowofairfromcarpetspecimensandcollectedonsorbentsamplingtubesduringemissionstesting.1.2Thistestmethodwillbeusedinconjunctionwithastandardpracticeforsamplingandpreparingcarpetspecimensforemissionstesting.Ifaspecificchamberpracticeisnotavailableforthecarpetspecimens,thisstandardtestmethodshouldbeusedinconjunctionwithapprovedstandardpracticesforemissionstestingandsamplepreparation.1.3Whenusedinconjunctionwithstandardpracticesforcarpetspecimenpreparationandcollectionofvapor-phaseemissions,thistestmethodwillprovideastandardizedmeansofdeterminingthelevelsofIVOCintheexhauststreamoftheemissionstestchamber/cell.Ifthistestmethodisusedwithareliablepracticeforemissionstesting,theseIVOClevelscanbeusedtodeterminetheemissionratefromaunitquantity(usuallysurfacearea)ofthesamplematerialundertest.1.4VOCsintheexhauststreamofanemissionstestdevicearecollectedonthermaldesorptiontubespackedwithaspecificcombinationofsorbentsusingactive(pumped)sampling.(SeePracticeD6196foramoregeneraldescriptionofvaporcollectionusingpumpedsamplingontosorbenttubes).Thesamplesareanalyzedbythermaldesorption(TD)withgaschromatographyandmassspectrometrydetection(GC/MS)and/orflameionizationdetection(FID)dependingupontherequirementsofthespecificmaterialsemissionstesting/certificationprotocol.1.5ThistestmethodcanbeusedforthemeasurementofmostGC-compatibleorganicvaporsrangingfromtheapproximatevolatilityfromn-hexaneton-hexadecane(thatis,compoundswithvaporpressuresrangingfrom16kPato4X10-4kPaat25176;C).Propertiesotherthanacompoundsvaporpressuresuchasaffinityforthesorbentmayneedtobetakenintoaccount.Compoundswithvaporpressuresoutsidethisrangemayormaynotbequantifiablebythismethod.However,qualitativedataconcerningtheidentityofacompound(s),outsidethestatedvolatilityrangeforquantitation,maystillbeusefultotheuser.Themethodcanbeappliedtoanalytesoverawideconcentrationrange8212;typically1956;g/m3to1mg/m3
